--ATCC--

美国典型培养物保藏中心（American Type Culture Collection），简称ATCC，是全世界最大的菌种保藏中心。美国典型培养物保藏中心是一个非私人、非盈利的生物资源中心。其任务侧重于收购，认证，生产，保存，发展微生物，细胞系的标准参照物。该组织拥有4000多种人类，动物和植物细胞株。ATCC的保藏900个属中的18,000菌株，以及2000株动物病毒和1000株的植物病毒。

--JCRB /RIKEN--

JCRB细胞库位于大阪市郊，隶属于国立生物医学创新研究所（National Institute for Biomedical Innovation, NIBIO）。JCRB细胞库与位于东京的Riken生物资源细胞中心，并列为日本两个最著名的细胞资源中心。JCRB成立于1984，曾经隶属于日本国立卫生研究院（NIHS）, 2005年前后，随着新NIBIO研究所在大阪郊区成立，JCRB归属于NIBIO。JCRB细胞库的主要职能是：收集各种研究用细胞株（以人源细胞株为主），并对所收集的细胞株进行质量控制检测，再结合现代生物及电子信息学技术，整理、收集、建立和管理所收集细胞的相关信息。同时JCRB细胞库向细胞用户（主要是日本国内的生物医药研发机构）分发所收藏的细胞和相关信息，并为细胞用户提供细胞质控相关的服务。JCRB细胞库现已收藏了三千多株细胞，其中绝大多数为人源细胞，包括人源肿瘤细胞，非肿瘤细胞和稀有疾病细胞，以及人源胚胎干细胞等。

管理上，JCRB细胞库对每一细胞，从引入（token stock，约12只）、扩增（seed stock，40只）到入罐及分发（Distribution stock，80-100只）分别给予临时编码（tentative number）、登记码（registry number）和JCRB码（JCRB number），并对每一阶段的细胞进行质控检查，一般保持在每批100只左右的数量。这一细胞管理方式，与多层细胞库结构（two- or three-tiered structure)在概念上有些类似，但由于其所收藏的细胞是应用于研究为其主要目的，而非生产用或治疗用，因此并未采取严格的多层细胞库的结构和全面的质量控制测定。JCRB细胞库目前已收藏了近3000种人源性细胞株，并对所有这些细胞株进行了9个位点的STR图谱资料的采集，和对其中1000千多种细胞株完成了16个位点的STR图谱资料（即目前ATCC推荐的细胞鉴别方面的最高标准）的采集。在介绍细胞指控相关的研究内容方面，除上述提到的SKY、CGH分析、基因组学分析等较复杂的技术外，JCRB还与多个生物技术公司合作，开发了以PCR为主要方法，可同时初筛39个不同种系支原体污染的检测方法，可以同时对8个细胞株进行10个DNA病毒或10个RNA病毒的筛查方法，以及通过检测线粒体DNA中细胞色素B（Cytochrome B）基因来鉴别不同种系动物细胞来源。JCRB近年来也开始重视对各种干细胞的收藏，并成立了一专门的干细胞工作小组，主要负责人胚胎干细胞的收藏和质控分析工作。

 德国微生物菌种保藏中心DSMZ (Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen )  www.dsmz.de DSMZ成立于1969年，是德国的国家菌种保藏中心。该中心一直致力于细菌、真菌、质粒、抗菌素、人体和动物细胞、植物病毒等的分类、鉴定和保藏工作。该中心是欧洲规模最大的生物资源中心，保藏有细菌9400株，真菌2400株，酵母500株，质粒300株，动物细胞500株，植物细胞500株，植物病毒600株，细菌病毒90株等。该中心保藏的菌种可出售。另外，该中心还提供菌种的分离、鉴定保藏服务。
